The Cathedral-Basilica of Saint Louis, King of France, also called Saint Louis Cathedral is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans. Situated in the heart of New Orleans, it is located next to Jackson Square and looks out over the Mississipi River.

In 1777, the Assassin Aveline de Grandpré went to the cathedral to be formally inducted into the Templar Order by her stepmother, Madeleine de L'Isle. Unbeknownst to the Templars however, Aveline's induction was a ruse to root out the Templar branch in New Orleans and eliminate its most powerful members.

Madeleine would later be laid to rest within the cathedral's cemetery.

Trivia

  • In the original version for the Vita, the cathedral's interior contained an upper level, which is where Madeleine would eventually be defeated. In the HD re-release, the battle with Madeleine is instead held on ground floor, with the staircase up to the second level remaining inaccessible.
  • In reality, the cathedral's recognizable bell tower hadn't been constructed until 1819.
