Aquilius was a Roman Assassin and was an ancestor of Altair Ibn-La Ahad

Trivia

"Aqulia" is a constellation which in Latin means "eagle". Also it's brightest star is named Altair. Eagles are represented commonly as similar to Assassins, for example Eagle Vision is used in all of the current Assassin's Creed games, also The Armor of Altair has robes supposedly made to look like eagle's wings
In his appearance in the French Graphic Novel he presents himself as "Aquilius Son of Lucius" before he is stabbed in the shoulder and knocked out.
