The Rune Shield was a heavy shield that featured a number of drawings of runic spells by a Germanic Seeress, supposedly to guard the owner against magic attempts.

During the 9th century, the shield was in the possession of the merchant Reda, who gave it to the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir after she fulfilled ten contracts of the Thousand Eyes.[1]
