Romani

A group of Romani.

The Romani were a faction for hire, consisting of dancers, fire breathers and musicians. With their spirited performances, they were sure to make an impression – and distract anyone.[1]

The Romani were stateless people originally from India. Over many centuries, their population migrated west, eventually reaching as far as Eastern Europe and northern Africa.

The Romani are also pejoratively referred to as Gypsies, a name arising from the misconception that they came from Egypt
