Roman Quarry Camp

The Roman Quarry Camp was a quarry situated southwest of the Aquaeductus Kyrenaike in the Green Mountains region of Cyrenaica, overseered by the Romans.
History
In around 47 BCE, a group of workers in quarry under the leadership of Seker attempted to revolt against the Romans. One of the workers, Hapti, was unwilling to take part in the rebellion, but was eventually forced to do so, sending a messenger to deliver a final letter to his wife Merope. Eventually however, the Romans caught word of the plot and slaughtered the workers, quelling the rebellion.[1]
The Medjay, Bayek of Siwa, later visited the camp, having learned of the content in the letter. Arriving too late to save Hapti's life, he recovered his wedding bracelet and returned it to his wife.[1]
