An 18th Century French Rapier

The Rapier was an 18th century sword designed for officers. It was mainly a ceremonial piece, but it could still be used in combat. During the French Revolution, the French Assassin Arno Dorian acquired a sword of this type.[1]

This officer's sword is largely ceremonial, but still quite effective in a pinch.

Behind the scenes

The Rapier, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Unity, initially needed to be unlocked by connecting with the Assassin's Creed: Unity companion app. However, on 18 February 2015, Ubisoft released Patch 5 which removed the need to connect to the companion app and Assassin's Creed: Initiates.[2]
