Quicksilver

Quicksilver, or elemental mercury, is a liquid metal thought to have healing properties in ancient times, even though it could prove lethal if touched or inhaled.

During the Renaissance, the Italian Assassins would use quicksilver to restore priceless artifacts. Quicksilver was also a prime ingredient in the creation of Nicolas Flamel's philosopher's stone.[1]
