Prokris' necklace

Prokris was a daughter of Erechtheus, a King of Athens, and the wife of Kephalos in Greek mythology.

During an unfortunate hunting trip, Kephalos killed Prokris, mistaking her for an animal in the bushes.[1]

According to a story, Kephalos gave Prokris a necklace. The piece of jewelry went missing, however, and was later located within the sunken ruins of a temple, off Kephallonia's coast, guarded by sharks. In 431 BCE, a vegetable seller and his wife asked the Spartan misthios, Kassandra, to fetch the necklace for them.[2]
