Pessesh en Gerrehh
Pessesh en Gerrehh was a rare bow of Egyptian origin, having been used by the Medjay, elite protectors of the Egyptian pharaohs for many generations.
During the Peloponnesian War, one of the bows wound up in Greece, wherein it was obtained by the misthios Kassandra.[1]

Behind the scenes
The bow's name is a reference to a line said by multiple background characters in Assassin's Creed: Origins which was repeated so frequently that it became a meme within parts of the community.[2] Since non-player characters which cannot be interacted with do not warrant subtitles, players humorously rendered the line phonetically as they heard it, leading to such transcriptions revolving around variants of "High precision Garret", "Visition geret", "Right decision Gereh", etc. This was compounded by the developers having consulted Egyptologists to help create a fictional language to approximate what could have been spoken at the time,[3] as Ptolemaic Egypt was not an Arabophone nation at the time,[4] and that the number of players who specialized in studies of Greco-Roman Egypt were so insignificant as to be nonexistent. In actuality, the phrase is based on reality. When asked on Twitter, Maxime Durand revealed that Voice Designer Nic Grimwood wrote the line as "Pessesh en gerrehh" and derived it from PsS n grH, meaning "midnight",[5] a fact that Hephaestus from AccessTheAnimus confirmed when replying to a similar query on Reddit.[6]
