Persona Non Grata is a repressed Cristina Memory in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
Description
Ezio meets Leonardo da Vinci and learns that Cristina is attending the Carnevale in Venice, with her husband Manfredo. Ezio writes a note to Cristina to meet him in an alleyway, pretending to be her husband. After locating Cristina with eagle vision, Ezio plants the letter on her and waits at the meeting point.
Unaware of Ezio's identity because of his mask, Cristina and Ezio kiss, with Cristina wondering why her husband has suddenly become so romantic. However, when she discovers it is Ezio, she angrily pushes him away, stating incredulously that she hasn't seen him in eight years.
As Ezio attempts to explain himself, Cristina interrupts him by saying that she has loved him, and not her fiance, all those years ago, yet he has abandoned her to be married. She coldly sais that his chance has passed, and tells him to never look for her again.
Dialogue
Ezio meets Leonardo during Carnevale. Leonardo then informs him about something
- Leonardo: Ezio! I was hoping to see you tonight.
- Ezio: I don't have much time. The Doge's party starts very soon.
- Leonardo: Nevertheless, I have news. I hear Cristina Vespucci is in Venezia for Carnevale. Weren't the two of you close?
- Ezio: Once...
- Leonardo: Perhaps it would not have been better not to tell you. She's with her husband. She may not be too happy to see you.
- Ezio: No... It's wonderful. It's Carnevale! With this mask, she need not even know! I know just the way to draw her attention... Grazie, amico.
Leaving his good friend, Ezio looks for Cristina. Having found her, Ezio finds a way to plant a note written by himself.
- Ezio: There.. Now to await her at the rendezvous.
Ezio successfully plants the note to Cristina and goes to the place where they will meet. Cristina arrives at the rendezvous.
- Ezio: Cristina...
- Cristina: Manfredo! When did you get so romantic--
- Ezio: Sshhh...
Ezio and Cristina intimately kissed each other.
- Cristina:Ezio....?
What the hell are you doing here!? How dare you--?
- Ezio: Cristina... It's alright.
- Cristina: Alright!?
I haven't seen you in eight years!
- Ezio: Si... (Yes...) I was afraid you wouldn't come if I... just asked.
- Cristina: You're right. I wouldn't have! Ezio... The last time I saw you, you kissed me in the alley-- and then left me behind to get married!
- Ezio: It was the right thing to do. He loved you.
- Cristina: Who cares what he wanted? -- I loved YOU.
- Cristina: You had your second chance... Please, Ezio... Don't ever find me again.
After saying those words, Cristina leaves Ezio.
Outcome
Ezio impersonates Manfredo and sees Cristina again. However, upon realizing that it was not her husband, but Ezio, Cristina asks him never to find her again.
Trivia
- Persona non Grata in Italian means 'An Unwelcome Person'.
- This is the only Cristina Mission that doesn't take place in Florence, but in Venice instead.
