A Pernach is a mace with a flanged head originating in the 12th century which was widely used throughout Europe. Its design allowed for greater penetration of plate armor, makeing it a formidable weapon.

During the late 15th century, the Spanish Brotherhood of Assassins utilized the penarch as part of the arsenal. They were able to forge it from the hideout in the Sierra de Cazorla.[1]
