Pearl

Pearl is a hard object produced within the soft tissue of a mollusk. They are primarily used in accessories such as jewelry.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
During the Renaissance, the Italian Assassin Francesco Vecellio plundered a number of ships containing the Templar Cesare Borgia's war spoils. Among the items looted were a number of pearls.[2] The Italian Assassins would use them as ingredients in manufacturing laudanum.[3]
Among the many treasures collected by the pirate Alonzo Batilla were a perfectly round black pearl and a few teardrop pearls.[4]
The island of Santa Lucia was known for its small-scale fishing and pearl gathering before becoming a resupply hub for pirates.[5]
In 1868, the British Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye investigated a series of robberies, one of which involved a stolen pearl necklace.[6]
