The Oil Maker's District

The Oil Maker's District was a oil production facility in the Tabik subdistrict of Karkh, Baghdad.

History

In the 860s, the Alamut Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq was assigned by a trade delegate to investigate the district and to confirm a perfume trader's involvement with the recent attacks on his fellow merchants. While there, he collected both the marked coins the delegate had left to be stolen and proof of the perfume trader's alliance with the bandits. Without being seen, he left the compound and informed the delegate of his findings.[1]
