Fort Nikiou was a fortification located in the Sapi-Res Nome, between Sais and the city of Letopolis. During the 1st century BCE, it served as the base of operations for Sefetu, the governor of Sais.

History

In 48 BCE, Sefetu captured Jeska for her role in evacuating vilagers of the village, bringing her to the fort where she was burned and tortured by the soldiers, suffering a scar on the left side of her face.[1] She eventually was able to flee, using the underground stream to the river to make her escape.[2]

Sometime thereafter, Harkhuf, the town's brewer and Apollodorus' informant was captured by Sefetu in his home and was brought to the fort, where he was locked in a cellar in a building. The Medjay, Bayek, was able to infiltrate the fort, killing Sefetu and help Harkhuf escape from his prison.[2]
