Nagano Pass

Nagano Pass was a passage that was situated in western Iga, Japan.

History

On 6 October 1579, the young shinobi Fujibayashi Naoe was instructed by Momochi Sandayu to make her way through the pass towards their meeting site. While along the path, she stood clear of Oda soldiers but grew angry of their carnage. At one moment, she was seen by a soldier and caught in an intense struggle. Nearly being choked to death, Naoe managed to kill him but was left mildly shocked at her first kill. Moving forward, she came to the meeting site where she witnessed Sandayu, his shinobi and her father Fujibayashi Nagato launch their attack against Oda Nobukatsu. Pushing Nobukatsu back to retreat, Naoe was caught by an Oda marksman and pushed off a cliff.[1]

Landing on the stream below, Naoe came into contact with a larger Oda soldier and fought against him. Winning the fight, Naoe was later caught by Nagato, who reprimanded her for leaving Matsu. Sandayu interrupted and stated she followed his order while Naoe stood on her ground stating all she did was follow their orders and nothing more. Realizing she was right, Nagato looked at the dead brute as he and Sandayu commended her for fighting for Iga before they all left for home.[1]
