Animus

A machine developed by Abstergo Industries. It is used to reanimate genetic memory into a simulation. The user must synchronize properly to allow the memory to be simulated.

Desmond Miles uses this machine to control Altair throughout the game.

The word Animus is Latin for: Courage, Vivacity, Bravery, Will, Spirit, Soul, Character, Intellect, Memory, and Consciousness.
