A moray eel

Moray eels are a family of eels found in most of the world's oceans, though nearly all species occur in tropical regions such as the Caribbean Sea.

Living at rocky shorelines, coral reefs and shipwrecks, moray eels hide in crevices by day and forage for food by night. Although they are generally benign to humans, they will bite if surprised or touched. As well as this, the eel's flesh can lead to ciguatera poisoning if eaten.
