The Minoan Ruins are the remains of a Minoan settlement located on the island of Thera, Greece.

The settlement was apparently destroyed in a monstrous volcanic eruption at some point.

During the Peloponnesian War the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the place at the advice of her mother, Myrrine. Myrrine told Kassandra that her father could be found on the island.

Years before, Pythagoras had come to the island to continue his research on the ruins. While there, he found a mention of a doorway, and discovered that it could be opened with the use of mirrors reflecting sunlight.
