Galina and her mother

The mother of Galina Voronina (unknown – 20 March 2014) was a member of the Assassin Order, working as a scientist in a cell located in an old Assassin laboratory in Protvino outside of Moscow.[1]

In 1977, while stealing animals to use for testing, she witnessed a man being chased by Templar and decided to intervene. After having killed the men, she was surprised to find their quarry had been an American Assassin called William. As thanks, William gave her blueprints of a machine, which he had stolen from Abstergo Industries, and asked her to construct the device before the Templars could. He then departed to meet another Assassin cell within the city.[2]

She subsequently built her own Animus in the laboratory, and began suffering from the Bleeding Effect after prolonged exposure, eventually claiming to talk to "Eve" during her Animus sessions. She forced the other members of her cell to use the device, who in turn were driven insane by the Bleeding Effect.[1]

In March 2014, her daughter enlisted the help of Gavin Banks, Emmanuel Barraza and Emmett, Assassins from the Altair II, to assassinate her mother.[1] On 20 March, they entered the laboratory in Protvino, where Galina almost single-handedly killed all the remaining Russian Assassins. Her mother was strapped to the Animus, with images of Juno[3] appearing on monitors on a nearby wall. Galina plunged her hidden blade into her mother's brain, killing her instantly. At the same moment, Juno screamed and disappeared from the monitors.[4]
