In January 1500, the Assassin Niccolò Machiavelli brought Ezio Auditore da Firenze to Margherita's house in the northern Campagna district, where he could recover from the wounds he had suffered in the siege of Monteriggioni.[2]

There, Margherita tended to his injuries, and after Ezio had regained consciousness, she handed him the robes and equipment provided by Niccolò, and helped him get dressed.[2]

Upon seeing that he was well enough to travel, she then directed Ezio to the Mausoleo di Augusto, where he was to meet with Niccolò.[2]
