An Xiaolang (安小郎) was a Tang soldier who served in the 15th Squad of the Anxi Protectorate 7th Army. His immediate superior was Zhang Huaigu, an elite crossbowmen unit. His squad was led by Zhang Huaigu, and they fought at the Battle of Talas in 751 with the rest of the Tang forces under General Gao Xianzhi's command. There, they suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the Abbasids.[1]
