Mace (Origins)
| This article is about the generic mace in Egypt. You may be looking for the generic mace in France or maces in general. |

The common mace used in Egypt during the 1st century BCE was simple in design, consisting of only a smooth, metal ball mounted atop a wooden pole with leather wrappings. Like typical maces of this period, it was not as long as a polearm but still long enough to necessitate two hands to wield effectively in combat.
