Louis VI (1 December 1081 – 1 August 1137), called the Fat, was King of the Franks from 1108 to his death.

During his reign, he oversaw the construction of Les Halles in Paris. In 1130, he had the Holy Innocents' Cemetery built. That year, he also had the Grand Châtelet stronghold built. Louis wanted the fortress to defend the Grand Pont bridge, later replaced by the Pont au Change.
