Lisieux
Lisieux is a town and commune in Normandy, France.
During the late 9th century, Queen Richardis of Francia took and raised Bernard in Lisieux in an attempt to keep him away from his father King Charles the Fat, believing that the king would corrupt the young boy and lead him on a dark path. Richardis would later bring the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir to Lisieux to meet Bernard before they continued on their journey to meet King Charles in his forward camp.[1]
