Herodotos and Kassandra at the Lion

The Lion of Leonidas was a memorial to King Leonidas I of Sparta; a statue of a lion backed by pillars, it was set where the king was first laid to rest after the Battle of Thermopylae, in Malis, Greece.

During the Peloponnesian War the Spartan misthios, and granddaughter of Leonidas, Kassandra visited the memorial to meet with Herodotos.[1]
