Leviathan (mythology)
This article is about mythical beast. For other uses, see Leviathan.
Leviathan was a huge sea monster, able to easily capsize ships.
Influence[edit | edit source]
In the Ptolemaic Egypt, a weapon inspired by the monster was in the possession of Felix Martialis, the owner of the Krokodilopolis Arena.[1]
During the 18th century, two ships were named after the monster. One was a Spanish treasure galleon which had run aground by 1713.[2]
The other was sailing the The Bahamas under the British crown before it was sunk by the Colonial Assassins Ratonhnhaké:ton and Robert Faulkner in 1773.[3]
