Amerigo Vespucci
Amerigo Vespucci (1454–1512) was an Italian explorer, navigator, and cartographer, and cousin of Cristina Vespucci.[1]
Biography
Early life
Amerigo became an explorer because of Cristina, who insisted Lorenzo de' Medici make Amerigo an explorer. Lorenzo took her advice and several years later, Amerigo was the first to map out the New World which was later named after him.
Amerigo confirmed the discoveries of Christoffa Corombo, and interrogated and tortured Micheletto Corella at the Palazzo della Signoria in Florence, with the Assassins Piero Soderini and Niccolò Machiavelli.
