Long ago, there lived a god named Kvasir. Kvasir was one of the most intelligent and knowledgeable creatures in the Universe. He travelled a lot, sharing his wisdom, until one day two dwarves decided to keep his knowledge for themselves.

They killed Kvasir to steal his widom. Then they mixed his blood with honey to create the very first mead. It was a magical potion that could give anyone who drank it the power of skaldship: poetry.

Norse people with poetic gifts were said to have tasted this magical mead, seen here contained in a drinking horn in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
