Kata
Kata is a Japanese word (型 or 形) meaning "form". It refers to a detailed choreographedpattern of martial arts movements. It can also be reviewed within groups and in unison when training. It is practiced in Japanese martial arts as a way to memorize and perfect the movements being executed.
Practicing kata allowed a company of persons to engage in a struggle using a systematic approach, rather by practicing in a repetitive manner, the learner develops the ability to execute those techniques and movements in a natural, reflex-like manner.
During the times of Feudal Japan, Kata techniques were practiced by Yasuke, who learnt from Akai Teruko, Master Kamiizumi Nobutsuna,Yamamoto Masakatsu and other masters. Yasuke himself would teach some to Junjiro and Fujibayashi Naoe. It could be observed in this time, that practitioners of Kata were typically sympathetic to Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins.
