Kaori Kagami is a Japanese doctor working for an Abstergo clinic and a member of the Templar Order.

Biography

In 2019, Dr. Kagami was treating Lisa Yang, a teenager who had trouble controlling her violent behavior. As part of the treatment, the Templar convinced the young woman to relive the memories of her ancestor, the Assassin Shao Jun, through an Animus.[1]

After a rocky first try in the Animus, Dr. Kagami calms the girl. Assuring her that it is only a simulation and nothing would harm her. Ending the session, the two women talk in the doctor's office. Lisa remained unconvinced at the treatment, while Dr. Kagami reads Lisa's file on her computer about her violent tendencies. She then implored Lisa to work with her as a team. After the session ends Lisa leaves. On the phone to a fellow Templar, Kagami reveals her true intentions of only finding the location of Jun's "treasure".[1]

In their second session, Dr. Kagami tends to Lisa as she desynchronizes after reliving a traumatic memory. Dr. Kagami insisted her patient rest, but Lisa wanted to continue her treatment. After Lisa ends another Animus session, Dr. Kagami explains to Lisa who the Assassins and Templars are after the latter asks about them. Explaining that Lisa's violent behavior is caused from her ancestors genes, Dr. Kagami helps Lisa back into the Animus. While Lisa is under, an Abstergo employee enters the room and warns Dr. Kagami about overexposured sessions in the Animus. Dr. Kagami simply snaps at the man that she is doing what she has to in order to get results.[2]
