Junk
Junks are Chinese-designed vessels. Developed during the Song dynasty in the period 960-1279, even the earlier junks were efficient and robust enough to travel across the sea over long distances. The design of the hull and sails made them superior to Western ships, which would later adopt the same design.[1]
