Amber
Amber is fossilized tree resin of golden hue. Though not a mineral, it is considered a gemstone and has been used to make a variety of decorative objects since antiquity.
History
In the late 9th century, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan visited Ireland and collected amber shards for Deidre Na Linni.[1]
During the Reconquista, the Spanish Brotherhood of Assassins used amber in order to create various weapons, accessories, and pieces of armor.[2]
