Jomsborg

Jomsborg was a semi-legendary Viking stronghold, located on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea, presumably in modern-day Poland. 

History

A lot of mystery surrounds the founding of Jomsborg, however, it served as the base of operations for the legendary Jomsvikings, an order of Viking mercenaries which adhered to a strict code of conduct. Outraged and in search of allies, Styrbjörn the Strong ventured to the fortress of the Jomsvikings in order to acquire their services at some point during the 10th century.
