John III of Navarre

John III of Navarre (1469 - 14 June 1516) was the King of Navarre, Spain during the Renaissance, he was also the brother-in-law of Cesare Borgia, who married his sister, Charlotte of Albret. He became King of Navarre by marriage of Queen Catherine, he also commanded a army of over 10,000 men.
In 1506 when Cesare Borgia escaped the Castle of La Mota after being inprisoned there since 1504 he seeked help from King John, who allowed Cesare to serve him for his experiance in the military. In 1507 John ordered Cesare to lead 10,000 of his men to the town of Viana to take back theViana Castle from the Count of Lerin. But his brother-in-law died against the siege of the Castle by the hand of the Assassin Ezio Auditore.
It is unknown if King John is or even associated with the Templars of is even aware of Cesare being a member of the Order.
