Ino's shrine in Megara

Ino was a mortal queen of Boeotia, who after her death and transfiguration was worshiped as a goddess under her epithet Leucothea in Greek mythology.

In the myth, after throwing herself into the sea with her deceased son, Melicertes, her corpse was said to have washed up on the coast of Megaris. Megarians then erected a small shrine located in southwestern Megara, where a sacrifice held each year in her honor.
