Description

Ezio travels to Rome to assassinate Rodrigo Borgia and retrieve the Staff of Eden. When he arrives at the base of the Castel Sant'Angelo, he promptly climbs it on the the Pasetto di Borga, where he was confronted by many guards. After he dispatched them, he continued to make his way towards the Vatican on horseback. Once he had reached the Capella Sistina, he entered using the groups of monks to his advantage, and remained unoticed by the guards. Thanks to his stealthiness, he entered the Sistine Chapel when Rodrigo was performing a prayer. He used the rooftop constructions to make his way towards Rodrigo, and then he promptly assassinated him. Ezio thought Rodrigo was dead.

Outcome

• Rodrigo Borgia is spared.

• Ezio speaks to Minerva in the Vault and learns of her people.

• Ezio learns that a great tragedy will befall mankind.

Pre-mission

• Mario: Roma beckons, Ezio. Let me know when you are ready to depart.

KO of Rodrigo Borgia

• Ezio: I thought... I thought I was beyond this. But I'm not. Requiescat en Pace, you bastard!

• Rodrigo: I don't think so!

• Rodrigo: How is it you resist? Oh! kind of you to bring me the Apple. Now give it here!

• Ezio: Vai a farti fortere(Go fuck yourself)

• Rodrigo: (Laughs) Always the fighter. Just like your father; well rejoice, my child, for you will see him again soon. You will give it to me!

• Ezio: As you wish.

Ezio splits into five

• Rodrigo: An impressive power, but if you think it's going to save you, you've another thing coming!

Ezio beats Rodrigo in combat

• Ezio: It's finished, Rodrigo! Lay down your arms, and I'll make sure the end comes swiftly.

• Rodrigo: Oh really, Ezio? And would you give up so easily were it the other way around?!

Rodrigo blasts Ezio back. Ezio pulls out the Apple. Rodrigo swipes the Apple from Ezio's grasp. Rodrigo places the Apple on the top of the Staff of Eden. Rodrigo lifts Ezio using telekinesis. Rodrigo stabs Ezio with a dagger.

Ezio goes through a secret door to the Vatican Vault. Rodrigo is struggling to find a door.

• Rodrigo: Open, damn you! Open!

• Ezio: It's over, Rodrigo. No more weapons, no more ancient artifacts, no more tricks. Let's see what you are made of, old man.

Ezio and Rodrigo engage in a fistfight

Ezio strangles Rodrigo

• Rodrigo: It's my destiny! Mine! I am the Prophet!

• Ezio: You never were.

• Rodrigo: Get it over with, then.

• Ezio: No. Killing you won't bring my family back. I'm done. Nulla e reale, tutto il lecito. Requiescat en Pace (Nothing is true, everything is permitted. Rest in Peace).
