Daniel Cross wielding a Mark 23 pistol

The Heckler & Koch Mark 23 or Mark 23 pistol is semi-automatic large-frame pistol specifically designed for offense. The pistol was first introduced in 1996.

History

In December 2012, the Templar agent Daniel Cross carried one such gun during his hunt for Subject 17, Desmond Miles. First tracking him down to Manhattan, Daniel cornered him at gunpoint. However, Desmond easily disarmed Daniel, and knocked him out before escaping with a Precursor battery.[1] During their second encounter, Daniel coldly shot a woman and her husband before Desmond could save them. Daniel attempted to flee with the battery, but was once again knocked out, while Desmond escaped.[2] Upon following Desmond to the Rome Abstergo facility where his father was being held captive by Warren Vidic, Daniel fired shots at Desmond while fleeing from him after experiencing the Bleeding Effect. Desmond later assassinated Daniel and took his gun. While on his way to rescue his father, Desmond used to gun to kill Abstergo security personnel. After manipulating the guards to kill Vidic, Desmond and his father escaped.[3]
