Haras (? - 1189) was an undercover Templar spy in the Assassin order, disguised as an apprentice.
Treachery in Masyaf
In 1189, he decided that it was time to attack. He alerted the nearby Templar army and ordered the attack. Many assassins were killed in the defence, and Al Mualim was captured. The assassin Altair Ibn-La'Ahad tried to kill Haras, but he threatened him with the death of Al Mualim. Haras then promptly returned to the courtyard, and killed an assassin hostage with his crossbow. However, Altair had breached the walls, and killed Haras with his sword. As Haras died, he tried to convince Altair that his creed was false, but to no avail. He then fell forward, and died.
His genetic memories were used by Abstergo under the name of The Crusader .
Last words
Haras: You put too much faith in the hearts of men, Altair. The Templars know the truth. Humans are weak, base and petty.
Altair: No, our creed is evidence to the contrary.
Haras: *scoffs* Perhaps I am not wise enough to understand, but I suspect the opposite- that I am too wise to believe such rubbish.
