Hachiman (八幡神) is a deity of archery and war in the Japanese Shinto religion. According to the Shinto religion, Hachiman is the immortal form of Emperor Ōjin, the 15th emperor of Japan who reigned during the 3rd and 4th centuries.[1] By the 16th century, many shrines dedicated to Hachiman were present though Japan.[2]
