The sunken Gyldan Sparrow

The Gyldan Sparrow was a merchant ship in use during the late 9th century. The Order of the Ancients member Vicelin was aware of the ship's profits from its cargo and regularly extorted the ship captain by taking a share of the wares brought into England. When the Gyldan Sparrow returned from Ethiopia with spice, candies, and a priceless necklace, Vicelin instead sank it near London's docks, having learned that the captain refused to give him any more cargo. With the currents being too strong to pull the wreck out, its valuables were left untouched until Eivor Varinsdottir braved the waters, looted two chests from the sunken ship, and recovered the necklace from a fish's stomach.[1]
