The Gruesome Mattock was a rare heavy weapon obtained by the Medjay Bayek of Siwa in Egypt during the 1st century BCE.[1]

Trivia
- Gruesome Mattock's design is based on the Roman Dolabra pickaxe. However, it is depicted in game as a heavy war hammer with the blade protector depicted as crushing teeth, moreover war hammers weren't used in ancient warfare.
- A weapon identical in appearance to the Gruesome Mattock appears in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, but it's called Sledgehammer.[2]
