The Gratian's Villa Ruins were the ruins of a former villa owned by the Roman Emperor Gratian, located between Wycham and Utbech by the Great Ouse River in Grantebridgescire.

Long abandoned by the Anglo-Saxon period, the villa was used by one of Soma's advisor, Birna, as a hiding spot following the Great Summer Army's expulsion from Grantebridge in 873. When the soldiers under the ealdorman Wigmund discovered their whereabouts, Birna and her followers hid and locked themselves in one of the buildings. They were eventually freed when Soma, aided by Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, arrived and eliminated the Saxon soldiers.[1]

Within the room Birna hid in, Eivor recovered an old Roman letter addressed to Gratian by Magnus Maximus, a later usurper of the throne of the Western Roman Empire.[2]
