Graham Westerly was SIRS Liaison a member of the British Rite of the Templar Order active in London during the 21st century.
After Lucas Clarkson broke the truce among the Assassins and Templars by entering London,[1] Westerly had him captured and interrogated in order to discover the location of the Tomb of Assassins.[2] When attempting to claim the Tomb for the Templars, he was assassinated by Darcy Clarkson.[3]
Biography
Graham Westerly was an intelligence liaison to the Crown and ran the the SIRS office in Buckingham Palace. He made his name overseas for his ability to extract information from detainees, along with their teeth and fingernails.[3]
Westerly once brokered a deal between the Templars and the Assassins, giving the Brotherhood the chance to leave London with what few numbers they had left in exchange for them never setting foot on London again. In 2039, he discovered that two Assassins had broken their promise, Lucas and Darcy Clarkson. Darcy attempted to negotiate, wanting him to let Lucas go so they could leave the city and forget the incident, though Westerly declined, since Lucas had information he wanted.[2]
The Templar strapped Lucas to a machine at Albion Station Kennington and tortured him for the location of the Tomb of the Assassins, which he eventually told. Westerly would blab on about the Assassins being reduced to nothing, before Lucas interrupted him saying he would rather die than hear another word from him, which prompted the Templar to tell him he wanted him alive when they breached the tomb. The torture had been too much, however, and Lucas passed away due to his injuries.[2]
The agents he had searching the tomb's location at the Buckingham Palace grounds had been neutralised and his security system scrambled by a DedSec operative, allowing Darcy to enter the tomb first, though he managed to infiltrate it with a team of Templars. Darcy dealt with the guards, found Westerly and assassinated him with her Hidden Blade.[3]
Behind the scenes
Westerly is featured as a character in Watch Dogs: Legion, a game also developed by Ubisoft. Despite being made by the same company, the crossover is purely "fan service" and is thus not considered canon within the Assassin's Creed series according to Watch Dogs: Legion Live Producer Lathieeshe Thillainathan.[4][5]
