Godfrey was a Scottish lumberjack residing within Homestead during the American Revolutionary War. After a young Ratonhnhaké:ton saved Godfrey's friend from floating down a river on a drifting log, Godfrey and his friend began residing at the Homestead and providing the place with woods, which could be sold or converted into wooden items to raise income.
