François de la Serre

François de la Serre was the Grand Master of the Templar Order during the late 18th century. He was the father of Élise de la Serre and adoptive father of the Assassin Arno Dorian.[1] Due to his respect for Arno's biological father, François did not try to indoctrinate Arno into embracing Templar ideals, instead allowing him to have a normal childhood.[2]

François was killed by his fellow Templars in a coup d'état, which was followed by a shift in power and core ideologies within the Order.[3]
