Francesco Sassetti (9 March 1421 – April 1490) was an Italian banker. He was employed by the Medici bank under Cosimo and Lorenzo de' Medici.

Noticing problems with the Lyon branch of the Medici bank, Sassetti's fellow banker Giovanni Auditore da Firenze alerted him to this, allowing him to save the branch.

Around 1475, Sassetti worked with Giovanni's son Federico Auditore da Firenze. On 17 September 1475, Federico stole a bag of gold, only revealing to Sassetti that he left it on the rooftop after panic struck in the bank.
