Eysa was an Isu who later was remembered in Norse mythology as a the daughter of Surtr and princess of Múspellsheimr.

Biography

In the prelude to the Great Catastrophe, Odin's son Baldr sought to win Eysa's hand in hopes their marriage could bring peace to the turbulent Nine Realms. After her father Surtr captured the Asgardian prince in Svartálfaheimr, Eysa briefly fought Odin's former wife Frigg when the two parents arrived in an attempt to rescue him from captivity.

Behind the scenes

Eysa is a character first introduced in the comic series Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Forgotten Myths, a prequel to Dawn of Ragnarök, the 2022 downloadable expansion for the 2020 video game Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. Unlike other prominent characters from Valhalla's depiction of Múspellsheimr like Surtr or Sinmara, Eysa is only briefly mentioned in Norse lore as the daughter of Glöð, who in myth was the consort to Logi rather than Surtr's bastard son.
