They call me many things: Murderer. Cutthroat. Thief. But you may call me Endymion Camp captain.

This article is about a subject that lacks an official name and is known only by its nickname, title, or alias.

The Athenian Captain was an Athenian captain stationed at Endymion Camp in the Psophis Foothills of Elis, Greece.

Biography

During the 428 BCE Olympic Games, the Captain forced the con man Alopex and the street kids he worked with, including Maia, to steal for him, threatening with violence and other abuse, even stealing the necklace of Maia's mother.[1]

When Alopex and Maia stole the drachmae of the Spartan misthios Kassandra, Kassandra caught up with Maia, who told her all about the Captain. As the girl reminded her of her friend Phoibe, Kassandra promised the girl to help her. Kassandra subsequently tracked the Captain to his camp, and overheard a conversation between Alopex and the Captain, and then slew the Captain, claiming the necklace of Maia's mother and freeing the street children the man kept in cages.[1]

Behind the scenes

If the captain is not killed, he can be knocked out and recruited as a lieutenant for the Adrestia. In the ship menu, his name is "Pitholaos."

Interestingly, he is referred to as a captain, but the lines he says instead refer to him as an Athenian Heavy Soldier.
