Durendal

Durendal was a the legendary personal short sword used by the Frankish paladin Roland. It was rumored to be indestructible, capable of effortlessly splitting boulders, and some of the metal that made up its blade would later be used to forge Joyeuse, the fabled sword wielded by King Charlemagne.[1]

In 886, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan found and claimed the weapon for herself while aiding Sigfred's efforts in laying siege to Paris.[1]
