Domitia Paulina was a wealthy Roman woman who lived in Cyrene, Cyrenaica during the 1st century BCE.

Around 47 BCE, her name was mentioned in a letter by a Roman Lanista, where she was stated to have paid 1000 drachmae for time alone with a gladiator under him, Polymestor.[1]

Trivia

  • Domitia shares the same name with a woman from Hispania, who would later become the mother of Roman Emperor Hadrian.
  • Domitia is the feminine form of Domitius, which meant "having been tamed" in Latin. Paulina is the female variation of the name Paulus, meaning "the little".
